Infant Programs Curriculum

Ages: Birth – 1 year

A typical day in the life of an infant in our daycare program is structured to provide a balance of care, stimulation, and rest, tailored to the developmental needs of infants. Throughout the day, TBV caregivers provide nurturing, responsive interactions, ensuring that each infant feels secure and cared for. Our routine promotes a stable and comforting environment where young cubs can thrive and develop their foundational skills. Here’s what a typical curriculum or daily schedule looks like for an infant in daycare at The Teddy Bear Village:

Arrival and Welcome: Parents drop off their infants, and TBV caregivers greet each child warmly, checking in with parents about any specific needs or concerns for the day.

Free Play and Exploration: Infants have time to explore age-appropriate toys and activities in a safe and engaging environment, promoting sensory and motor skills development.

Snack/Feeding (occurs more than once throughout the day): Depending on the infant’s feeding schedule, caregivers provide bottles or solid foods if appropriate.

Circle Time: Short, engaging activities such as singing songs, reading simple stories, or playing with puppets to stimulate auditory and visual senses.

Nap Time (sometimes occurs more than once throughout the day): Infants follow their individual sleep schedules, and caregivers provide a calm and quiet environment for rest.

Diaper Changes: Regular diaper changes occur throughout the day to ensure comfort and hygiene for your little cub.

Outdoor Time: Weather permitting, infants spend time outside in a secure area, experiencing fresh air and sensory play with bubbles, soft balls, strollers, toys, and more.

Lunch/Feeding: Another feeding session aligned with each infant’s schedule, including bottles or solid foods as per parental guidance.

Interactive Play: Activities that promote development, such as tummy time, reaching for toys, and exploring textures, are tailored to each infant’s developmental stage.

Art and Sensory Activities: Basic art activities like finger painting with non-toxic materials or sensory bins with safe, age-appropriate items to explore.

Music and Movement: Gentle music and movement activities to encourage physical development and coordination.

Story Time and Quiet Activities: Reading books with colorful pictures and engaging in quiet play to wind down the day.

Parental Communication: Caregivers provide updates to parents during pick-up, sharing details about your infant’s day, including feeding times, naps, activities, and any milestones or observations. All of our Programs are monitored by secure livestream cameras so you’re also able to check in on your child throughout the day.
